I trained at Imperial College, London prior to undertaking house jobs at the West Middlesex hospital. In 2009 I started specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in South West London, where I developed a specialist interest in endometriosis and laparoscopic surgery, and was admitted as a Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2013.
Through a nationally competitive process, I was appointed to a fellowship in advanced laparoscopic surgery for endometriosis in Wessex and spent time working at both the Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester and the Princess Anne Hospital in Southampton as well as a fellowship in northern Italy.
In 2016, I was appointed as a consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth, where I have established a nationally accredited specialist centre for the treatment of severe endometriosis. Additionally I have established a pathway for a laparoscopic hysterectomy to be performed as a day case procedure.
My main gynaecological interest is the treatment of endometriosis and laparoscopic ('keyhole') surgery, though I offer a range of gynaecological treatments for conditions such as painful or heavy periods, painful sex, pelvic pain, vulval problems and abnormal smear tests.
I am fee assured with all main insurance companies, which means that if you are insured, there will be no additional fees to pay (except for any excess on your policy). If you are paying for yourself, the Nuffield hospital has a fixed price surgery promise along with a range of payment options. Please get in touch for more details.
I teach on a number of nationally recognised courses including intermediate and advanced laparoscopic skills and am an experienced instructor for the MOET course (managing obstetric emergencies and trauma) and the GIC (generic instructor course) both run by the Advanced Life Support Group.
Outside of work, rugby was always a passion of mine, having played competitively to a high level, Having reluctantly stopped playing, I now live on the edge of Dartmoor and am often found dog walking, sea swimming or cycling in our outstanding countryside. I am also a keen amateur photographer.
